LustChat vs MyLovely: What Does Private Chat Actually Mean?

Begin with an ordinary piece of information

A fictional character’s invented profession may be enough for a creative scene. A real address, identifiable relationship history or another person’s private details are usually unnecessary. Deciding what the conversation needs is more practical than treating a private label as permission to disclose everything.

LustChat’s FAQ says a public profile does not expose private messages to other users. That answers an audience question. Its Privacy Policy separately describes storing chat logs, possible model training and an account-setting opt-out. It also describes analytics/advertising and sharing some non-sensitive information with marketing partners.

MyLovely’s About page uses strong privacy language. The Terms and Privacy Policy qualify the practical picture with provider processing and an improvement license, including training subject to applicable opt-outs. Those first-party statements need to be read together.

Ask three separate questions

  1. Can another user see it? Check profile, character and conversation visibility independently. A public character can allow others to start their own chats without publishing your existing transcript.
  2. What does the provider process? Account operation, moderation, analytics and model improvement are distinct purposes. A private audience does not eliminate these.
  3. Which preferences can I change? LustChat names an account privacy-setting opt-out. MyLovely’s Privacy section 9, under GDPR choices, directs a Model Improvement Opt-Out request to [email protected], while the policy specifically identifies EU users’ opt-out and continued core/safety/legal processing. Do not assume a privacy preference stops every processing purpose.

This is a policy-reading method, not a technical security audit or a determination of a provider’s compliance.

A content license is another layer

The platform’s permission to process content and your rights in what you create are related but different questions. User ownership does not automatically exclude provider use; a service license may coexist with it. MyLovely’s Terms make that distinction material to a character you intend to develop over time.

Keep a privacy preference from becoming a creative obstacle

A useful original scene can use invented names, broad adult roles and the facts needed for the current goal. Avoid embedding unnecessary sensitive history in a long character biography. This can make both the creative brief and the data decision simpler.

If your priority is a specific training preference, LustChat publicly describes an opt-out. MyLovely also addresses improvement uses and applicable opt-outs in its Terms. Neither source set supports declaring an independently verified encryption, zero-retention or absolute-privacy winner. Choose based on the controls and processing purposes you understand, not only the word private.

Sources and scope

This comparison separates documented capabilities from editorial interpretation. Source access and any limitations are described in the article; a suggested evaluation is not a claim of completed testing.
